| Most Admired International Player | Andrew Mehrtens, Josh Kronfeld. I've not seen anybody control a game and mix it up better than Mehrtens. And a great kicker (placekicking and out-of-hand) I saw Kronfeld in NZ 5 years ago (he was stood at the bar with half a dozen women stood around him) and I though what a guy! - his work-rate is unbelievable and is what I think an open-side flanker should be. |

| Best Match for Witney |

| Worst Match for Witney |
Witney 2nds v Oxford Harlequins 14th Feb, 1998. LOST 0-62 Was on the pop the night before. We were a shambles and got stuffed and I came off with a dead-leg in the second half. 2nd XV : Bee(A), Stewart, Nick, Rashley, Jenkins(S,) Tipping, Toase, *Cobb, Davies(G), Lay, Crocker, Reddings, McAndrew, Bennett(S), Wicks(D) |
| How to improve training | Virtually every game we play and lose we always say the opposition were better drilled. Why can't we be well drilled? We should spend more time doing the basics right (set-pieces and planned moves) and focus on support play and running from deep at pace - especially the forwards. The sessions should be carefully planned and as far as possible be split into squads and working groups. |
| Remaining Rugby Ambitions | Continue to play as long as possible. Then return to refereeing and perhaps coaching. |
| Miscellaneous | Most admired Witney players JC and Mark Serle. Norm's durability and enthusiasm is a priceless quality. Funniest sight in the changing room Macca’s wind-breaking shorts Funniest sight on the pitch Macca’s wind-breaking shorts Best Trip home From Milton Keynes last season after the 2nds had just won the Merit Table. We’d hired a mini-bus and forgot to bring Glen before going back for him. Journey home included many stops, dart games and loads of Dave Martingale impressions. I got so much stick for reminding people that Dave, our driver, was on his 10th pint of Guinness. We gatecrashed a party that Boz was late meeting his girl for and caused a bit of a stir, but Coach Gareth did the decent thing and bought us all a drink and young Robbie Mills decorated the mini-bus with vomit before disappearing into the night. What I would miss most Reeves’ awe-inspiring teamtalks and Glen’s banter. Worst/Best Changing Rooms/Showers Bicester (dirtiest), Stow (smallest), Old Cryptians (cleanest) Favourite Welsh match v South Africa First match at the new stadium. Wales DID outplay South Africa for pretty much the whole game (probably the only time Wales have outplayed a southern hemisphere team since the 1970's) - Jenkins controlled the game masterfully. Interesting Facts Qualified referee. Got stuffed by Colin Jackson over 100 metres as a 13-year old. |
