Match Day Superstitions
Most Admired International Player "If I have to give a sensible answer, I would have to say either Scott Gibbs or Neil Jenkins"

Most Admired Witney Player "Well for someone who has to put up with a lot of stick, has to play with a fan club watching, is the butt of many jokes and still manages to come out on a Wednesday to train us. Thanks NORM !!" "I would also like to JC as he has been very encouraging and supportive during the summer training and has taken the time to explain and help which I find helps me a lot. HE also comes up the club to support the Angels. Thanks JC and hope you continue the support this season"

Favourite Rugby Tour "Tour ?, that sounds good - I can't wait until we have one !"
Most Embarrassing moment on the Pitch "I can't actually think of one but las tweek at Newbury when Mary scored her try, my dad shouted "Well done Mary", so Mary then shouted down the pitch to Andrea, "Andrea, Andrea, Mr Williams just congratulated me". It wasn't embarrassing for me as I've got used to being introduced as Mr Williams' daughter rather than Lisa. Also when I got winded las tweek, the ref came up to me as I was creased in two and asked "Are you really hurt, or are you just having a rest ?" Well I know I'm unfit and slow but he could have been a little more tactful !".
Most Embarrasing moment off the Pitch "I would have to say when I was at Rogers training and we had to sprint with a partner from one end of the hall to the other. One tied the bungee rope around their middle and the other had to restrain them holding at behind. Well I was with Paul Thomas who went sprinting off and I fell smack onto my face, apart from the pain, the worst bit was all of the other women laughing so much they were crying !!. At least I'm there for amusement. It just goes to show if you have got the speed you have the strength, Paul certainly showed me that by pulling me over. Thanks Paul,I'll always remember that. "
Best Match for Witney

"I don't really know, probably Burnham when we gave them a run for their money at the end of last season, I also have to say I really enjoyed the match at Newbury once I had got stuck in"

Worst Match for Witney

"For Witney - Thanet. Didn't even have to think about that one. Also I have to say I has a really bad match when I played against Harlequins in London and I ended up with a broken nose and had to go to work the next day with a swollen nose, puffy eyes and I couldn't drive. The worst bit was that I had to be godmother the next Sunday. I had two black eyes and one of the godfathers turned up with 2 slight black eyes too. I think the vicar thought we were together and had a fight. A fine example to our god child !"

How to improve training "I am going to try hard this season at getting fitter. Over last summer I felt I put in a lot of hard work and was getting a little fitter, was looking forward to the next season, then September arrived and I was struck down with glandular fever so was off until January. I had lost all my fitness and was back to square one. Touch wood, I'm fine so hope I can loose some weight and become fitter (Don't hold your breath though)"
Remaining Rugby Ambitions "Keep playing for the Angels and one day scoring a try !"
Miscellaneous

Other Sports :
"Used to play tennis for Woodstock Tennis and Bowls club. Played Hockey for West Witney when I was at school. Enjoyed all sports at school but only swim and play Rugby now".

Thoughts on Rugby before playing "Have come from a very sporty family and have always enjoyed watching rugby since I can remember, never thought about playing though."

Thoughts on Rugby now playing "I love it, I think it's a fantastic game. It all started when I saw an open day advertised in the paper for women and thought it would be fun. I was in France and was piling up logs with my dad when I was pretending they were a rugby ball he was throwing to me and I was throwing on the pile. I then decided to ring the number in the paper. I started to play for Oxford until I had a the broken nose and a blood clot on my leg. I then met Heidi through work and she said she wanted to start coming to Witney and persuaded me to come with her so I did and haven't looked back since (thanks Heidi). I think the club is very friendly and have enjoyed playing a part in it. Thanks to Scottie, Norm, Matt, Shane, Dave, Mark, JC and everyone else for their hard work, support or advice they have given to me and especially to the ANGELS !".

Editors Comment
Lisa is someone that every coach would want in their squad. She hardly misses a session, never moans or whinges, tries out whatever you are asking and always gives her all. While she will never be the fastest in the squad, she possesses more pace than she gives herself credit for and has very good hands, rather like her male counterpart, frustrated Fly Half, Nick Godfrey ! Someone who obviously enjoys her rugby, as long as she can stay fit this season, she will get better and better as it progresses. Very importantly, likes a beer or two as well !
