Season starts at 10am prompt on Sunday 5th September!
Head Coach Ian Binnian joins the U10s this season having previously been assistant coach with the U12s for three years. The coaching team otherwise remains the same as last year.
In the first two weeks of the season we will be concentrating on further development of the basic skills of passing, attacking/evading, tackling and rucking. In addition the forwards amongst the squad will work at contested scrummaging and lineouts. In 3rd and 4th weeks we will concentrate on developing our teams for the Grove tournament on Sunday Oct 3rd and may have a couple of extra sessions on Thursday evenings. We also hope to enter the Cheltenham minis festival on Sunday 17th Oct pending confirmation.
This summer Witney RFC have become a community partnership club with London Wasps RFC. We are doing a Matchday Coachclass with Wasps on Sunday 21st November followed by their premiership fixture against London Irish.
The squad will go on tour towards the end of the season and this year we aim to get the whole squad away together for this event. Further details to follow in October at which time a small deposit will be asked for. In addition we have some exciting potential sponsorship developing!
